The USDA Agricultural Research Service is seeking a permanent, full-time Entomologist who will be responsible for a multifaced research program, focusing on improving the supply and quality of managed bumble bees for U.S. crop pollination and to conserve native bumble bee populations. The specific areas of research are: Improve management of selected bumble bee species; Understand bee biology as related to management goals; Investigate extent and causes of bee population declines; and Evaluate the genetics of bee species of commercial and ecological interest for conservation of diversity.  The successful candidate will join the research team at the USDA-ARS-PWA Pollinating Insect-Biology, Management, Systematics- Research Unit (PIRU) in Logan, Utah.  The position is advertised at the GS-12 level ($76K starting salary), includes full government benefits, has promotion potential to GS-15 (up to $160K), and is open to all U.S. Citizens and Nationals.
