Faculty position in Ecology

The Biology Department at Sultan Qaboos University wishes to appoint a plant or animal ecologist. The candidate should be passionate and innovative teacher with the ability to lead field-based programs and prepare students to meet the environmental challenges of the 21^st century.

The successful candidate should have a background in whole-organism, population or community-level ecology. The ability to incorporate quantitative methods and GIS would be a strong advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong field-based teaching and research program. Applicants may work with any group of plants or animals including mammals, birds, reptiles or invertebrates in either terrestrial or marine habitats.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field and at least two years teaching experience and a record of publication in quality international jounals. Appointment may be at the Assistant or Associate-level dependent on experience.
