OSU-Cascades in Bend, Oregon invites applications for a full-time 1.0 FTE, 9-month tenure-track, Assistant Professor starting on September 16, 2021.  Duties include conducting research and external funding, teaching and advising students and providing service to OSU-Cascades and OSU community.  Requirements include an earned doctoral degree in Natural Resources or closely related field completed by time of appointment, demonstrated ability to effective teach undergraduate courses, record of scholarly activity, experience mentoring students, and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of teaching and research in ecosystem resilience, translational ecology, climate change response, or coupled human and ecological systems; ability to develop a collaborative research program that will compliment current research areas and efforts on-going at OSU and OSU-Cascades; evidence of effective teaching and mentoring; evidence of facilitating undergraduate experiential learning; strong evidence of university, department, or program leadership; demonstrated capacity for creating an inclusive cultural and intellectual environment.

OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon, is a campus of Oregon State University. Established in 2001, OSU-Cascades currently enrolls more than 1,200 students in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The campus expanded to a four-year university in 2015, opened its 10-acre campus in fall 2016, and the Oregon legislature approved additional funding in 2017 and 2018 for continued campus expansion, which is currently in progress. The campus has ambitious enrollment goals to reach 3,000 students and is engaged in building a culturally diverse and community-centric educational environment.
