Assistant Professor, Insect Biodiversity

The Department of Entomology and the School of Integrative Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invite applications for a 9-month tenure-track assistant professor position in insect biodiversity.

The successful candidate will engage in research and teaching in insect biodiversity at levels including phylogenomics, biogeography, and conservation genomics; anthropogenic influences on biodiversity is a priority. Opportunities for campus collaborations are diverse and include scientists at the Illinois Natural History Survey with its insect collection of ~7 million specimens.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in entomology, biology, genetics/genomics, conservation biology, or a related discipline. Candidates with a record of commitment to advancing groups historically marginalized or underrepresented in the field through teaching, mentoring, or administration are especially encouraged to apply.
