World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world's leading conservation organizations, seeks a Global Science Research Fellow - Natural Capital Modeling.

Building on this legacy, WWF is recruiting a Global Science Research Fellow to help advance the organization's mission to build a future where people live in harmony with nature. The Global Science Research Fellow will help shape and implement an interdisciplinary research agenda and apply it to accelerate WWF's goals in Climate & Energy, Food, Forests, Freshwater, Oceans and Wildlife. The Global Science Research Fellow will support the Global Science Team and experts in finance, markets, policy and practice to advance a coordinated effort that will deliver science and technology for tangible conservation impacts. The Global Science Research Fellow reports directly to the WWF Chief Scientist.



Responsibilities
 

  • Provides executive-level research and analysis support
  • Works with Chief Scientist to conduct innovative research and to synthesize research that delivers practice- and policy-relevant information
  • Stays abreast of relevant scientific literature and shares important findings with team
  • Conducts and supports colleagues in conducting research, analyses and synthesis, providing compelling written and visual information to convey key results
  • Serves as a radar function to identify opportunities and emerging science issues
  • Supports high quality distribution of research and analysis across the global science team, though learning and knowledge management channels
  • Supports development of proposals and reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned
    Qualifications
     
  • 10+ years with an advanced degree in a discipline in environmental science or related field. A PhD in a discipline in environmental science or related field preferred
  • Considerable research and analytical experience, preferable in an environmental discipline
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant, current research methods
  • Experience in science communications and proposal writing
  • Strong leadership, project management skills, and excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, visual and interpersonal communications skills in English
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a decentralized network with a culturally diverse and international team
