The Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources (RSENR) at the University of Vermont (UVM) seeks applicants for an endowed Chair in Watershed Science and Management. We are recruiting an energetic and inspiring leader with an international reputation as a scholar and educator. This position offers an opportunity to lead research and outreach on grand challenges regarding freshwater resources, with significant funding and staff to support the work. Requires a Ph.D. in watershed science, freshwater ecology, economics, natural resource policy and planning, engineering, environmental chemistry, hydrology, or related fields, as well as a strong record of successful, externally-funded research on watershed science and management, broadly defined. The successful candidate will actively advance diversity, inclusion, and equity at the University of Vermont and in the broader community. Applicants at the rank of Associate Professor and above will be considered but all applicants must have sufficient experience for appointment to an endowed Full Professorship with tenure. Application materials include a letter of interest (1 page), curriculum vitae, and four brief statements (2 pages each): a. research interests and experience, b. leadership approach, c. teaching philosophy, and d. how the applicant will center diversity, equity, and inclusion in their work.
