Bates College, a private, highly selective, residential college in Lewiston, Maine, is devoted to undergraduate study in the liberal arts. The Department of Biology and the Program in Neuroscience invite applications for a two-year full time Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2023. Ph.D. is required by the start date. We would be interested in a wide-range of candidates who specialize in neuroscience at the cellular and/or molecular scale.

Teaching responsibilities (5 courses) will include contributions to the biology, general education, and neuroscience curricula (e.g.,100-level general education neuroscience course, course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) course at the 100-level, upper-level neurobiology course with lab, and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of specialty). Catalog descriptions of current courses can be found here. We would also expect this person to mentor research projects with undergraduates in their area of expertise

Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. by August 2023
