Job Summary: Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach graduate courses in the Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) and the Global Field Program (GFP) on topics such as Conservation Science & Community and Ecology, Evolution, Inquiry; Project Dragonfly in the Biology Department works with a creative university team of faculty and staff at Project Dragonfly to instruct graduate-level online and/or hybrid courses offered through Miami University. Courses in the AIP and GFP are designed by Project Dragonfly in collaboration with national and global partners. Appointment begins August 21, 2023.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. by date of appointment in ecology, conservation biology, environmental or science education, or a closely related field for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor; ABD or master’s degree in ecology, conservation biology, environmental or science education, or a closely related field for appointment as Instructor.

Desired Qualifications: Consideration may be given to candidates with specialized experience in a relevant area such as community-based conservation, public engagement in science, learning in formal and informal settings, sustainability, ethnoecology, or international research; experience with web-based courses and instruction; excellent oral and written communication skills; knowledge of student and instructional support; organizational skills with attention to detail; commitment to working in a collaborative environment to support a diverse instructional team and student body; familiarity with collaborative tools such as Zoom, Google Meets, Skype, Google apps, web conferencing, and creation of engaging video/instructional media.
