This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position. For the 2022-2023 academic year, the University has implemented a pilot program allowing employees to work either a compressed 4-day work week with extended workdays or may work from home one day a week. Brief Job Overview/Summary

The Stockton University Environmental Science Program seeks to fill an annually renewable, non-tenure track position for a Teaching Specialist in the area of Ecology beginning September 2023. Teaching responsibilities will include a core Ecological Principles class (lecture and laboratory) and statistics course taken by all majors, other core or upper-level courses in the undergraduate major (lectures and/or labs), and teaching in the University’s interdisciplinary general studies curriculum.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Teaching load is 32 teaching credits hours per academic year with lectures carrying 4 credit hours and laboratories 2 credit hours
  • Serve as an advisor to undergraduate students
  • Participate in service to the university, community, and/or profession
  • Excellence in teaching and service are expected
  • Demonstrate the ability to support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching ecology, statistics, and related environmental courses in lecture, lab, and field settings
