Job Details

The College of Idaho invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology to start in Fall 2024. We seek candidates whose teaching, research, and service will contribute to our commitment to an equitable and inclusive learning and work environment.

 

The successful candidate will have a background in a biomedically-related field such as molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, or microbiology; a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate courses in a liberal-arts context; and an interest in developing a research program that includes collaboration with undergraduate students. Primary responsibilities include teaching required core courses and upper-division courses that align with the candidate’s expertise. The normal annual teaching load is 21 credits distributed between fall and spring semesters and a 1-month January term. Research startup funds are available. Qualifications

A completed PhD in Biological Sciences or closely-related discipline is required prior to beginning employment.

Review of candidates will begin November 3, 2023 and continue until the position is filled.

  • A letter of interest, Curriculum vitae, Statement of teaching philosophy that articulates a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring in the context of an undergraduate liberal arts educational setting, Statement of research interests that briefly outlines your overall research goals along with how these would incorporate undergraduate students, A separate statement describing how your commitment to diversity and inclusion are demonstrated in your teaching, scholarship, or service, and Undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial transcripts are accepted).
