Dickinson College invites applications for a one to two year Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Science position in the Environmental Studies Department, commencing July 1, 2024. There is a possibility to extend the position for a second year, following a teaching review. The successful candidate will have primary expertise in the natural sciences and a demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary human-environment interactions. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, aquatic ecology, climate science, and conservation. The successful candidate will be expected to teach five Environmental Science credits each academic year in their area of expertise, with the possibility for one repetition. PhD required in Environmental Science or a related science field, such as Ecology. Advanced ABD may be considered. Traveling by car, it is 20 minutes from Harrisburg, PA, two hours from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, and three hours from New York City.
