The U.S. Geological Survey is recruiting for the Western Ecological Research Center Director position. The Center Director is responsible for defining the overall science program of the Science Center and for overseeing the planning and completion of all center science activities, which encompass research related to forest health, sea level rise, drought, energy development, endangered species, wildland fire and much more. The Western Ecological Research Center is a challenging and rewarding Center to lead! This GS-15 0401-series position (Natural Resource Management and Biological Sciences) is located in either Sacramento or San Diego, California, and manages 230+ employees across 14 field stations in California and Nevada who collaborate extensively with BLM, NASA, NSF, NRCS, USDA, state and local agencies, universities, and others.
